Warm, thoughtful psychotherapy for anxiety, relationships, life transitions, grief and patterns that keep us stuckAreas of Focus
Anxiety & Depression
When worry, self-doubt, insecurity, sadness or emotional exhaustion begin to narrow your life, therapy can help you understand what's happening and find ways forward.
Getting Unstuck
People often come to therapy because they feel caught in patterns they can't seem to change. Together, we'll explore what keeps those in place and how change becomes possible.
Relationships & Connections
Connection with others is central to mental health. People need to feel seen, heard, significant and loved. Therapy will help you build more satisfying and authentic connections.
Finding Purpose
Questions about meaning, ambition, identity and direction can arise at any stage of life. Therapy provides a space to clarify what matters most and how to move toward it.
Eddie Rosenstein, LMSW
People usually come to therapy because they feel stuck. Things just aren’t working.
Sometimes you feel anxiety or depression. Sometimes it’s challenging relationships . Sometimes your career is getting you down. Or you have a sense that, despite your best efforts, you keep arriving at the same place.
My role is to help you better understand how these patterns developed, what purpose they serve, and help you rewrite your story.
I earned a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Hunter College. Since then I have provided thousands of hours of psychotherapy, both in person and via telehealth. My training includes Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, and narrative approaches.
But therapy is also about understanding people. Before becoming a therapist, I spent decades as a documentary filmmaker, earning people's trust during some of the most consequential moments of their lives. I've taught graduate students, built and led companies, served on nonprofit boards and coached youth sports. Most importantly, I've spent years navigating life as a son, husband, and father.
Training and experience, together, has given me a deep appreciation for the complexity of people's lives: the ways we protect ourselves, the stories we tell ourselves, the desires that motivate us and what factors shape our decisions and relationships.
Lets explore what's happening in your life, and why so you can see what is possible when you begin to understand things differently.
That’s the point, right?

“Therapy is not simply about feeling better. It's about understanding yourself more clearly, identifying patterns that keep you stuck, and developing new ways of responding to challenges.”
MY APPROACH
-
Many people know what they should do but struggle to do it. Therapy helps us understand the forces that keep old patterns in place, and create room for something different.
-
We all develop ways of protecting ourselves from disappointment, uncertainty, shame, and vulnerability. These strategies make sense when they begin but, over time, they can become limiting. Therapy helps us understand and decide which patterns still serve us.
-
The way we relate to others is shaped by conscious and subconscious experiences. In therapy, we explore how these entered into your life, how they are affecting intimacy, trust, communication and connection and how you can change things for the better.
-
Therapy involves examining the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, what we're capable of, and what our lives mean. Are those stories are still accurate?
-
I’m trained in modalites including Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Somatic Therapies. These are each important tools, but the art of therapy is listening, understanding and knowing how to help people create effective change in their lives.
-
Meeting weekly gives us the opportunity to develop momentum, understand recurring patterns, and make meaningful progress. Depending on your goals and progress, meeting less frequently may make sense.
-
Insurances I currently accept are: Meritain Health, Aetna, Optum, Oscar Health, Oxford and UnitedHealthcare UHC | UBH. For out of network clients, the 55 minute per session fee is $150 for individuals and $175 for couples. Sliding scale is possible.
-
Some people start therapy to address a specific challenge. Others choose longer-term work to understanding themselves more deeply and making larger, lasting changes. Together, we'll regularly discuss your goals, progress and treatment plan.
